You Must Have a California Business License If you want to start a business in California, you’ll need to obtain a business licensing in the state.
To do so, you will need to apply to the California Business Licensing Division (BCL).
This division, which handles applications for a variety of licenses, issues a license to your business and provides you with an overview of the rules.

You Have to Submit an Application to BCL for a Business License Application to get a business business license in California is often a one-step process.
You’ll need an application, and then you’ll have to go to the BCL and complete the necessary paperwork.
You may have to fill out a form to prove you’re in compliance with the rules, such as paying taxes, filing returns, and certifying that the business is not engaged in unlawful activity.
The BCL also has a fee schedule for licensing businesses.

If you’re not already licensed, you can apply for one through the California State Bar Association (SBA).
