Business lawyer, account manager, or social media manager, accountants, accountancy experts, account executive, or accountants are among the highest paid in the world, according to a new report from PricewaterhouseCoopers.
A staggering 86% of the $1.2 trillion in the U.S. economy is comprised of businesses that are owned by a single company.
The top 10 positions include accountants (10%), accountants and accountants of various skill levels (9%), account managers (8%), accountancy firms (7%), and account managers in the accounting and investment industry (6%).
The report comes as the number of U.K. jobs posted on job sites has dropped sharply, and according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the country lost 10,000 jobs in the first quarter of this year.
Among the top 10, the Uxbridge-based accounting firm of PwC is No. 2 with a total of 2,038 employees, followed by the Pricewaterhill consultancy with 1,842 employees.
The accounting firm’s revenue rose 9% to $934 million, while its net income rose 10% to a $1 billion, the report said.
PwC reported the Ullsby office lost 1,500 jobs in its fourth quarter, while the accounting firm lost 1.2% to 1,099 employees in its fifth quarter.
PwP is one of the biggest accounting firms in the United Kingdom, accounting for $3.5 billion of revenue in the fourth quarter.
The company reported revenue in March that was up 8% year-over-year, but lost a further 3% for the year.
