Business checking account providers may not have much in the way of direct customer service, but they’re here to stay.
In fact, they’re so important to the future of mobile commerce, it’s not surprising that the companies that run the accounts are in high demand.
“We are going to have an increased level of mobile demand,” said Mark Clements, president and CEO of Veritas.
“The more mobile the better, because we need a device to connect to.”
Veritas, which operates the most popular business checking account provider, Verisign, offers a range of mobile-friendly products to customers, including the Verisun, a mobile-ready, secured mobile banking device.
And if you’re not sure what you want to do with your mobile business, there are some mobile-focused tools that will help.
Veritas has more than 30,000 customers in more than 100 countries.
The company’s customers pay $3 a month or more to access the service.
To use it, customers have to create an account.
In addition to the account itself, there’s a number of mobile features that can be accessed, including: a mobile login, an easy-to-use mobile phone number, a prepaid debit card, a free mobile phone, a secure mobile payment app, a virtual ATM, a live chat system, and more.
“It’s the easiest way to create a mobile payment account and make sure that the payment is processed in the most convenient way possible,” said Clements.
Verisign also offers an online banking app, called Verisuns, that offers mobile-savvy options.
The app lets customers open a bank account online, create a debit card and an online payment account, all at the same time.
If you want your business to be more secure, you can add a phone number to your account to ensure that all your payments are sent securely to your business’s secure phone number.
And if you don’t want to wait for the phone number you already have, you’ll also have the option to create one.
Verity also offers mobile banking through a partnership with the U.S. Treasury Department’s Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC).
With the FDIC’s Mobile Banking App, customers can open a debit or prepaid card, transfer funds through an online account or wire money with a secure credit or debit card from a bank.
Verizon Business Checking account customers can create a bank card using the Veritas app, create an online debit card or wire funds from a debit account using a secure online card or secure mobile wallet, or add an online prepaid debit or pay with a mobile phone to their bank account.
“We’re just adding more mobile features to our account,” Clements said.
“It’s more of an investment.”
Verizon customers can sign up for a $3 monthly credit card at a time for $19.99 per year, and a $5 monthly prepaid debit credit card for $39.99.
