Businesses that are planning to remove their sign from their properties could be forced to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to replace them, with many of them likely to lose hundreds of jobs.
The signs are meant to represent the “true face of the city” and can be found on buildings across the city.
But the signs are facing a fierce price battle with many businesses, from restaurants to car dealerships, saying they are too expensive to remove.
With the signs becoming increasingly expensive, some businesses are saying they may not be able to survive for long if the sign is not removed.
There is a growing number of businesses that are refusing to remove the signs because they don’t want to be seen with them.
They are calling on the city to act fast and to put more resources behind the signs to make them more widely visible, said Bob Withers, president of the local chamber of commerce.
“It is time to put some money into this problem, especially with the fact that many of these businesses are struggling financially and have a high turnover rate,” he said.
Mr Witheres said he is concerned about the sign business as well as the number of people who are turning to online advertisements to attract people to their property.
He said the city is spending $60,000 a year to monitor and monitor the signs.
More to come.
